It can direct the received signals to either the automobile’s FM radio (through the cigarette plug), or through an auxiliary input.

Note that there’s an included USB interface that can also be used to charge a device, just in case. There’s also an accompanying iDevice application that can be used to configure and control the accessory. Additional features include built-in noise reduction, an option to share the Bluetooth connection with other passengers (in case they want to play something), and automatic switching from music to phone functionality in case of a call.
